3rd May 2007 - Alton Towers Trip

Last weekend was our first theme park trip of 2007, so we headed off to Alton Towers in Staffordshire for the weekend. We arrived at the park gates for about 11am, about 30 minutes later than planned due to a hold up just outside Stafford due to a classic bike show.

Anyway, when we arrived we headed straight for Rita, as on our last visit it hadn't been working. Fortunately it was one of the rides with a single rider line, which meant just a 10 minute wait. Not bad at all. Next up was Corkscrew. I realised that riding towards the middle of the train was a lot smoother than the front car! Its still rough though, but that's what Vekoma Corkscrews are all about. We then did Charlie and The Chocolate Factory ride, shortly followed by lunch sat outside on the grass.

We spent the rest of day taking things at a leisurely pace, getting just about every ride other than the Runaway Mine Train, Nemesis and Air done. We made sure to do those first on the Sunday, and I managed to get plenty of rides in on them.

It was a great weekend, lots of fun, but we came home very tired on the Sunday. At least we got to enjoy it while we were there though; 2 days makes it so much nicer as you can take your time, go on things more than once, etc. On our last trip, we stayed at the Travelodge in Uttoxeter, not to be recommended, so this time we stayed at the Travelodge at the M6 Stafford Motorway Services. The hotel was much nicer and quieter, the only disadvantage was it added another 15 miles on to our journey in the morning.

And now we can start looking forward to our next theme park weekend, Chessington and Thorpe Park!

13th April 2007 - New Website

So, to start of the news section, it's probably fitting that we mention the date we launched our new website. So here it is! Enjoy! It's taken far too long to produce, and the album part of it has been up and running since October last year, but finally the new web site is ready!

Well, it had to happen some time. I took a look at the old website, and just though it looked cheap and nasty (that's what you get for using FrontPage and spending very little time on it!). So, in preparation for the new website, I decided to archive the old one, just for nostalga!
